Infrastructure

The Classroom projects of Feed the Hungry, Inc. (FtH) provide additional classrooms in public schools with critical shortages. Confirmation of sites is principally based on student population and current classroom conditions in the area.

LATEST IMPLEMENTATIONS

On February 27, 2026, the Romeo Mataac National High School was inaugurated in Poctoy, Boac, Marinduque. The four-classroom structure was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Celso Mataac at a cost of Ph3,820,000. The fourth classroom was reconfigured into a library, a teacher’s lounge/meeting room, and a computer room.

On February 8, 2026, ground breaking ceremony was held to mark the construction of  Feed the Hungry Inc’s Legacy Building, an eight-classroom two-story school building.  Anticipated completion is early 2027.

In 2025, Marahan West Elementary School and Columbia Elementary School in Davao City were inaugurated thanks to the Bernardo D. and Sol T. Foundation, which donated Ph5,000,000 for the construction of the school buildings to commemorate Feed the Hungry Inc.’s founder, Teresita Ricafort Alarcon. The state-of-the-art buildings are equipped with rooftop solar panels.

Water System Projects

In 2023, Feed the Hungry, Inc. signed a partnership with the Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement [PRRM]  to build three deep well water systems in the mountains of Nueva Vizcaya to benefit the indigenous population.  Zach Filon raised $12,000 by holding a piano concert to fund a water system in Ammowed, Ambaquio.

Dr. Stephanie Coquia donated $7,500 to build a deep-well water system in Balete, Kayapa, which failed and had to be redesigned and relocated to another location in the area; it is now under construction.

The Infrastructure Program, with additional FtH Board-approved funding, built the water system in Camandag, Ambaguio for $21,000.  This system has 10 top stands to distribute water to 28 households, a small chapel, an elementary school, and a day care center.
